Assessment

Assessment is an essential aspect of effective instruction. WHA teachers and administrators embrace a shared set of schoolwide assessment practices, which include: clearly stated learning targets and criteria for success; frequent checks for understanding; timely and constructive feedback; multiple opportunities for improvement; and strategies for students to self-monitor and self-assess.

Through a variety of formative, summative and standardized assessments, our teachers carefully monitor individual student progress in order to provide all students with the balance of challenge and support they need to succeed. We hold high expectations for all students to achieve rigorous standards in all academic areas.
